Become A Shelter Volunteer

For the shelter side of WBR Animal Shelter & Animal Control, we are tasked with doing everything we can to find positive outcomes for the neglected, unclaimed, and abandoned animals that often end up in our care. We do this through community outreach, social media outreach, volunteerism, and networking with rescues and adopters across the country. Volunteers are a vital resource in helping us to reach our shared goals. We greatly value and appreciate those that volunteer their time and efforts to help us in any way they can. From simply walking our dogs to bathing and providing basic care for our shelter animals, we can use your help. 

How To Volunteer

If you would like to know more about the volunteer opportunities at our shelter please contact our main office at 225-336-2428. You will need to fill out a volunteer waiver at our office, or you can print it out here and bring it with you. If you are under 18, you will need to bring a legal guardian with you to sign the under 18 waiver.
